Dine Around Castro, SoMa, and the Mission

Last November AIDS Emergency Fund and Breast Cancer Emergency Fund
created an extremely successful restaurant-based fundraising event
in the Castro and Noe Valley areas known as Dine Around: 94114.
Thirty participating restaurants donated 25% of the total proceeds
from the day of November 12 to AEF and BCEF. Friends and allies
turned out in droves to support their neighborhood chefs, raise
money for the clients, and have a delectable meal.
Thanks to help from The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc.,
the Castro Lions, and other civic groups, volunteers at each restaurant
thanked the diners and made everyone feel at home. The evening was
capped off by a lovely dessert reception at the LGBT Community Center.
That event netted $25,000 for the clients of AEF and BCEF, and created
tremendous publicity and participation in the Castro and Noe Valley.
This year the charities are excited to announce that the event
will expand to two nights and four neighborhoods. On Wednesday November
10, thousands of neighbors and friends in the Castro and Noe Valley
will again open their hearts and wallets in support of loved ones
with AIDS and breast cancer by participating in Dine Around: Castro
& Noe Valley.
The following week on Wednesday, November 17, they will expand
the event to include other neighborhoods in Dine Around: SoMa &
Mission. Restaurants have been signing up like mad, and a full list
of participating mouthwatering eateries can be found at www.DineAroundSF.org.
So save both those Wednesday dates: November 10 and November 17.
Join them for lunch or dinner on either of those days and 25% of
your bill will go directly to clients in need. Who knows? You might
just get served by a fun nun or an outrageous drag queen or a hot
leather person or just some very warm, good looking volunteer!!!
